Identify the true source of allergens, the first step to allergy prevention and treatment.

Research has shown an upward trend in allergies among Hongkongers, with one in three children suffering from at least one allergy. People with allergies experience symptoms such as asthma, skin problems, and allergic rhinitis, which can significantly impact daily life. Therefore, many parents take their children for aIgE allergy testand understand and improve allergy conditions.

Why undergo an IgE allergy test?

The damage caused by allergies not only affects physiology but also severely impacts daily social interaction, learning, sleep quality, or work performance. From mild or temporary allergic reactions; profuse watering of the eyes or nose, burning and stinging of the skin, unbearable itching; to even spasms or difficulty breathing, these are a series of reactions that an allergic person's immune system may produce after coming into contact with allergens through food or the environment, and can develop into serious conditions such as allergic rhinitis or allergic asthma. Although anti-allergy medications can be used to relieve symptoms, they are not a long-term solution. Allergic symptoms can occur in infants, children, or adults. In daily life, we frequently encounter food and environmental allergens, and IgE allergy testing can help us identify the root allergens, without having to completely abstain from things related to those allergens.

Taking milk as an example, it turns out there are up to 12 different allergen molecules in milk. Only 3 of these are more likely to trigger an allergic reaction, and some of these particular allergen molecules break down when heated. For patients sensitive to milk who are found to have antibody reactions only to these two types of molecular proteins, heating the milk before consumption can significantly reduce the risk of triggering an allergy. This shows that patients with milk sensitivity do not need to completely cut out all dairy products after undergoing allergen molecule testing for their allergies.

【4th Generation Allergen Test IGE ALEX2®】

The 4th generation allergy test – ALEX® utilises nanotechnology and multiplexed detection to analyse the actual allergenic molecules causing allergies. It accurately identifies at a molecular level which components trigger allergic reactions and effectively pinpoints potential allergens causing cross-reactions. This allows for the assessment of allergy risk and interpretation of symptoms caused by cross-reactions.

The world's largest molecular allergy testing platform

Comprehensive testing for 295 molecular allergens, covering common types of food and environmental allergens.

Food categories include eggs, milk, nuts, seafood, beef, etc.; environmental categories include dust mites, pollen, cat and dog fur, etc.

Only a fingertip blood sample of less than 2ml is required, which is safe and fast.

Report within 7 working days.

Proprietary CCDs Inhibitor technology filters out factors that cause false-positive results

Test unaffected by medication

Who is suited for the IGE ALEX2® allergy test?

  • To help patients suffering from various allergy-related issues, such as rashes,
Eczema, itching, hay fever and asthma etc.
  • Identify the causes of food and environmental allergies
  • Children who are still developing and whose immune systems are not yet fully formed, find the truth
Avoid excessive dietary restrictions for allergens
  • Avoid unnecessary or ineffective drug treatment
