In addition to implementing various basic hygiene measures, parents should also arrange for their babies to be vaccinated at the appropriate time as an important method of preventing infection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The free childhood immunisation programme provided by the Hong Kong government currently includes the Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) combined vaccine, with the chickenpox vaccine programme being implemented in 2014. Generally, the first dose of these two types of vaccines is administered when children are 12 to 15 months old, followed by the second dose between the ages of 4 and 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In recent years, the \"MMRV vaccine\" (measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella) has been widely discussed among parents. It is a single injection that protects against the four aforementioned childhood infectious diseases. Parents can arrange for their baby to receive the first dose at 12 months of age at a clinic or private hospital, and it is recommended that the second dose be completed approximately 3 months later (around 15 months of age). Completing both doses of the vaccine early helps the baby develop sufficient immunity sooner and enhances the overall epidemic prevention capability of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Young children who have received one dose of the MMR vaccine or one dose of the varicella vaccine may receive a second dose of the quadrivalent vaccine at least six weeks later, which will provide a similar level of protection.Research indicates that as many as 99% children develop effective protection against these four infectious diseases after completing the
